Fantastic day yesterday and my thanks to Jeff Botterill of Family Law Decisions for the invitation. Great also meeting Marek who runs Families Needs Fathers West London Branch and Maurice, another volunteer for the charity. It's people like them who don't get the praise, but daily make a difference to people's lives.
A House of Lords event for DadsHouse, an organisation who emotionally support fathers and are working to get better support for seperated dads and improve inclusiveness.
Maria Miller, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Work and Pensions announced a package of funding for organisations supporting parents both during and after separation. Even better was to hear the message from Government that 'shared parenting is the key to children's futures'. By george, I think they've got it. Hats off to Maria and to Tim Loughton who have had it for some time!
